Lucas Jones is a tree climbing, barefoot running, dollhouse making, storytelling, sword wielding, homeschool father of four. He enjoys reading bedtime stories like The Lord of the Rings and believes dinner tastes better when prepared to Cotton Eye Joe with the help of his daughter who shares the tendency to spontaneously start dancing. He sees life as a grand adventure.
He served a Cambodian speaking mission is Tacoma Washington. He received a degree from Weber State University in Telecommunications and Business Administration and somewhat works in the field now as a database administrator for a University. One day while attending college he and his roommate tried to open the window further and dropped the lock-bar several stories. Lucas waited until dark to retrieve it and met a woman, Wrylon, on her way back home to the dorms. Two weeks later they were engaged and have now been married 15 years. He shared with his wife that he was SSA during their engagement but it was years before either of them would discuss it and begin to understand the ramifications. When Josh Weed posted his infamous blog post, all the puzzle pieces for her came together. Wrylon called him at work and said, “You’re Mormon and married and gay and it’s ok”. Since then they have grown to understand what being SSA/gay is really about for them and seek to share the way they have found happiness in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, no matter what your challenge is in life.
