New North Star Online Discussion Groups: Couples & HIV/AIDS Survivors
As we try to better serve our community with online discussion groups that cater to some of the specialized needs and interests Latter-day Saints have, we are continually re-evaluating what those needs and interests might be and how groups may need to be created, condensed, reorganized, eliminated, etc.
As part of this effort we have recently created two new online discussion groups—one for Couples and one for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.
The Couples group was originally created for the men and women who attended our 2009 Couples Summit and we are now opening up the group to other couples in our community. While there are already groups exclusively for the spouses of men and women who experience homosexual attraction and for married men who experience homosexual attraction, this group is primarily for both spouses to join together for open discussion with other couples. Of course, either partner is welcome to join individually if the other is not currently interested.
The HIV/AIDS Survivors group is for anyone affected by HIV/AIDS, whether they be an individual or family member affected by HIV/AIDS or someone who has an interest in offering support to others who are. This group is not limited to men and women also affected in some way by homosexuality. We acknowledge that the virus affects many through various means.
